In Lahaina, the location of Maui Jim’s home office, the years of 1825 through 1860 were known as the Golden Era of Whaling. The whaling industry was huge in this small village, and it was a major port for whaling. In honor of Lahaina’s history, Maui Jim released a new Flexon style—the Whaler. The frame is made from a bendable “memory” metal that allows it to keep its shape longer than traditional metal frames.
